Who May Join?

Anyone, sighted or blind, eighteen or older, who is interested in enhancing the quality of life of blind individuals throughout the state of Illinois may join the Illinois Council of the Blind, either through one of its affiliates or as an individual member. Although most of our members are blind, we encourage membership and financial support from all segments of the community, sighted or blind.

How much does it cost to join?

Annual dues are $10.00 per year. This includes annual dues to the American Council of the Blind. Your dues entitle you to four quarterly issues of our magazine, the Illinois Braille Messenger.

How do I join?

Contact our office to find out if we have a chapter in your area. If we do, you will be provided the contact information for that chapter. Otherwise, we will send you information on how you can become an individual member. Whether you join one of our chapters or become an individual member, we need and value each one of you. Joining your local chapter will allow you to be active and help citizens who are blind in your own community or area.
