Finances

Finances

The Illinois Council of the Blind is financed by membership dues, contributions from the general public, grants from foundations, various fund-raising projects which include two concerts put on each year in the Springfield area on our behalf through a telemarketing program and a Vehicle Donation Program and bequests.

Needs

Funds are needed: to produce and distribute The Illinois Braille Messenger, maintain a central office, to support the braille production service, advocate with the Illinois Legislature and other Governmental agencies so they understand how people who are blind or visually impaired are affected by a number of issues, finance the annual convention and the meetings of the Board of Directors, participate in the work of the American Council of the Blind, and carry out various programs to meet our objectives.
