


The annual convention of the Illinois Council of the Blind will take place from Friday, October 10 to Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the Route 66 Hotel & Conference Center, 625 E. Saint Joseph Street, Springfield, IL 62703. Room rates will be $66.00 plus tax per night. You may make room reservations by calling the hotel at 888-707-8366 or 217-529-6626. You can use Amtrak from Chicago from the north and St. Louis from the south. Unfortunately the hotel does not offer any transportation to pickup at the train station or other points of arrival. You can take a short five minute ride by Lincoln Cab, 217-523-4545, from the train station to the hotel.
We will be streaming part of our convention this year via ACB Radio World. Streaming will take place on Friday, October 10 from 1:30-5:00 p.m. U.S. Central time or 6:30-10:00 p.m. Universal time; Saturday, October 11 from 1:30-5:30 p.m. U.S. Central time or 6:30-10:30 p.m. Universal time; Saturday, October 11 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. U.S. Central time or 00:00 to 3:00 a.m. Universal time.
