The committee concerns itself primarily with legislative matters effecting people who are blind or visually impaired. There are opportunities to work directly with state legislators, people serving the blind and visually impaired and others. You will learn how to be an advocate and you will learn about the legislative process.
This committee is concerned with developing and implementing new and inventive ways to raise money for ICB. Whether it is raffle tickets or direct appeal this committee needs people willing to sell tickets, help develop appeal letters and establish mailing lists.
The Membership Committee has the duty to recruit members, visit established affiliate groups, and develop informational materials for interested people and to visit and help to establish new affiliates.
This committee is
responsible for the planning and implementing of the state convention. Some
of the duties are: establishing the convention program, inviting speakers to
the convention, working with the hotel on arrangements, with the office on
convention materials, etc.
If you are interested in the intricate running of ICB then the Constitution and Bylaw committee is for you. You will help revise the ICB constitution as needed and help members who want to propose changes or bylaws to submit them properly with the correct wording.
Develops resolutions to be presented at the state convention.
Establishes guidelines for applications, reviews applications received and chooses the recipient of the scholarship award.
This committee will be responsible for choosing the recipient of the Mary McCann and the Phil R. Janes Volunteer of the Year Award.
As a member of this committee you will be asked to participate in spreading the word about ICB.
As a member of this committee you will be asked to oversee the office & personnel.
